Every tour on this page is private, led by a licensed Egyptologist, and operated by us rather than resold through a third party. Several of them reach sites that are closed to the general public — the Osiris Shaft beneath the Giza plateau, Wahtye's Tomb at Saqqara, the state rooms of Abdeen Palace — opened under permission from the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities. VIP Egypt Tours is operated by Travel Lovers Egypt, E.T.A.A. Licence No. 2390.
A single day covers one site properly — the Giza plateau, or Saqqara and Dahshur, or a day trip to Alexandria. Two to four days lets you add Luxor by internal flight. Seven days or more is where Cairo, Luxor and Aswan fit into one route without rushing, usually with a Nile cruise between the last two.
Cairo and Giza hold the pyramids, the Sphinx, Saqqara, Abu Sir, Abu Rawash and the Grand Egyptian Museum. Luxor holds Karnak, Luxor Temple, the Valley of the Kings and Hatshepsut's temple within a few kilometres of each other. Aswan holds Philae, the High Dam and the Old Cataract, and is the usual gateway to Abu Simbel.
Some of our tours visit sites anyone can buy a ticket for, and the value is the guide and the timing. Others cannot be visited at all without special permission — Wahtye's Tomb, the Osiris Shaft, Abdeen Palace, the interior of the Great Pyramid outside public hours. Tour pages state which category they fall into, because the difference changes both the price and the notice we need.
